A Flatiron
I created this piece over two days: July 27-28, 2015.
My sister Marisa visited a couple weeks ago. Marisa, Karla, and I went to Boulder and hiked at Chautauqua Park. It was Marisa and my’s first time there. While working our way up to the Royal Arch, we passed some of the well-known Flatirons. One of the pictures I took served as the inspiration for this piece.
This is the first piece in a long time where I’ve used a real mountain as the basis for the picture. It turned out well, and I’ll continue this trend with other sources so I can get more experienced with mountain scenes. I do love mountains.
It took longer than other pieces I’ve done, but I’m happy with how it turned out. I hope you enjoy it at well!
